Introductory/Refresher Virtual YSBIRT Training

Sponsor: The National Council for Mental Wellbeing

Youth Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (YSBIRT) is an integrated, comprehensive approach that helps you identify, reduce and prevent risky alcohol and drug use among youth. Research shows that early identification and intervention decreases the long-term likelihood of substance use disorder.

If you’re an administrator or clinician new to YSBIRT or looking for a refresher on best practices, join us for the  Introductory/Refresher Virtual YSBIRT training on Thursday, May 9, 2-5 p.m. ET. Registration is $65/person.

The training will cover:

  • How YSBIRT fits into providing integrated and trauma-informed care.
  • Using evidence-based screening tools to identify levels of risk in adolescents.
  • How brief interventions increase engagement, prompt behavior change and reduce counterproductive discussions.
  • Best practices for facilitating access to specialized services for youth at higher risk.
