Sponsor: Northeast & Caribbean ROTAC
Description:
One of the most significant challenges to individuals in treatment in rural communities is the stigma attached to being identified as someone who uses substances. The values of self-reliance and independence, while being a source of strength during crisis, can negatively influence help-seeking behaviors.
This webinar will discuss how the stigma related to being identified as a substance user and the values of self-reliance converge to present a unique barrier to care for individuals in rural areas.
