PRESENTATION: The COVID19 crisis will require tremendous resilience in the face of trauma and loss, for all of us, but especially for those who are more vulnerable to such experiences. Adversity disproportionately impacts certain groups of people, leaving them more at risk of suffering the negative impacts of these circumstances. For generations, the social conditions for some people are far more favorable and their progress in society is not unduly influenced by oppression. During this webinar Cassie Yackley will underscore the critical need to protect vulnerable families during this crisis (and beyond) in order to mitigate the potential of generational vulnerability to stress, which will include the adoption of anti-oppression beliefs and practices. Following this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify three ways the pandemic has impacted vulnerable populations.
- Identify two anti-oppression practices to use with patients at risk.
PRESENTER: Cassie Yackley, Psy.D., is a master trainer and trauma-responsive practice content expert. Her company, Cassie Yackley, Psy.D., PLLC, was formed in 2016 to meet the profound need for expert training and consultation in trauma responsive practices/systems in human service agencies throughout the state of NH faced by impact of the opioid epidemic and the crisis in the children’s mental health and child protection systems. She has extensive experience consulting with agencies to develop system-wide cultural shifts and to implement organizational change toward trauma-responsive policies and practices.
