PRESENTATION: This is a 4 hour training specific to substance abuse for Addiction Professionals, and other service providers interested in improving their skills & increasing knowledge in understanding the Disease Concept of Addiction regarding stimulant use. Participants will be provided insight conducive to introducing clients to the 12-Step Recovery Process. Professionals will also be equipped to assist clients in understanding the Physical, Mental and Spiritual aspects of addiction and recognizing relapse as a process-thus identifying the tools to avoid the relapse pitfalls.
Objectives:
- Training for Addiction Professionals, Social Workers, Probation Officers and other service providers interested in improving their skills & increasing knowledge in understanding the Disease Concept of Addiction in reference to stimulant use
- Participants will be provided insight conducive to introducing clients with history of stimulant abuse, to the 12-Step Recovery Process.
- Professionals will also be equipped to assist clients in understanding the Physical, Mental and Spiritual aspects of addiction
- Professionals will be equipped to assist clients in recognizing relapse as a process-thus identifying tools needed to avoid the relapse pitfalls.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Pamela Morgan, MBA/CADC/CPRM is a nationally known trainer and substance abuse professional – providing services since 1993. She is the owner of KEY INSIGHTS, LLC., an approved professional development training provider with the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). Best known for her training Toxic Relationships: Another Addiction, she develops and facilitates various topics including Addiction to Crime, Enhancing Motivation for Change, Recovery Relapse and the 12 Steps and Addiction in the Church. With more than 27 years of personal recovery, over 23 years of experience working with treatment, prevention, correctional and adolescent populations, and more than 18 years providing professional development training, Morgan offers a wealth of personal and professional experience.
